Hi All,

Sorry about the English language instead of German.. Alhough I hope you can help me out! It is okay for you to respond in the German language. I can read it, but unable to write :D (im not a German native).

I have a Delonghi ESAM Magnifica 4000b and it doesn’t turn on anymore, after its “initial reboot”. ;(

When I plug it into the power outlet it still goes through its normal “rebooting” process (brew unit goes up and down). All lights are blinking at that point. After rebooting, the machine turns off / into standby. All of this is normal, so far.

After that, in the normal situation, I have to press the on/off button to turn the machine ON (in to active mode). But the thing is that the machine is not responding to any button at this point. It will not turn on…no lights start blinking and machine responds to nothing......

Have you got any suggestions to troubleshoot this? Responses/tips/reactions in German language are okay too! :thump: :thump:
Thanks you all!

Udo

Wechsle den Ein-/Ausschalter aus. Ersatz findest Du im Shop.

Hi Michael,
I have disassembled the buttons. There is a little tiny button on the printplate (printed circuit board), even when pressing that one it doesn't do anything.
Do you mean to replace that tiny button? or the whole buttons circuit board?
The led lights on the buttons circuit board are working as normal so initially i did not think of this part being broken because of that! Could it be that lights are working fine, but the button itself brakes down?

Hope you can clarify your suggestion, many thanks! :thump: :thump: :thump:

I tried to find that unit online, so I can order it. But cannot find it.
Do you have any idea what search term i should use for that? Or any location where this unit can be ordered? :thump:

I managed to get the machine resetted by pressing buttons "on/off", "1 cup" and "2 cups" at the same time.
The machine went through a reset procedure. Which mean that my on/off button technically works well (right?).

After that i also managed to get the machine in testmode, by pressing "1 cup", "2 cups" and "steam" at the same time. All lights were blinking and the machine incremently gave about 1/2 liter of brown-ish water (no coffee). It did not came out fluently. It came out joggly (Stoss).....
The bean grinder, brewhouse and mechanical elements seemed to work okay, although it made some raw noises.
The heater became quite hot, so suppose that one is alright.....

After replugging the power chord, the machine did not start up after pressing "on/off".... so the button will work normally in combination with the other buttong (to reset) and does nothing when i just want to startup the machine.....

Hope you have some suggestions after this information??? :thump: :thump: :thump:

p.s. i havent replaced the control panel yet because "resetting" and "testmodus" can be initiated without problem....

Hi Udo,
you have not changed the "control panel". You think ist works. Run all the testmodes?
Then is my first idea, that the upper brewing piston (inside on top right) is clogged with lime.
You write " It did not came out fluently. It came out joggly (Stoss)....."
So you can find the instructions for descaling in this link https://www.kaffee-welt.net/index.php?page=DatabaseItem&id=91

The error can vary. So the water pump could be defective.

wish you much success :thump:

Hi!!

Here i am again. Finally the new control panel came in today!
I mounted it on the machine and it worked!!! The machine came to life again :D obviously the control panel was broken. immediately I thought the case could be closed, but i laughed too soon..

Unfortunately the substance that came out was nothing like coffee at all ?(
The machine does all the steps before brewing like normal, only when it begins pouring out the machine the first half of the cup seems to be normal coffee and then the second half of the cup is just brown-ish water...

I turned the knobs for coffee strength and coffee quantity in various ways, without any luck. :( :( :( :(

I hope you guys have any leads for me ! I feel we are close to solve this issue :thump: :thump: :thump:

Do you mean the bean grinder? I'm not sure but it looks like it's set on "7".
I haven't touched the knob in a long time, however....

Turn it, during the grinder is working, to 3,5. But turn the knob for coffee strength a little bit back.

Indeed, the grinder had to be turned a whole lot to the right. The grind was way too coars. Now it is a lot finer and while playing with the coffee strength and water quantity the coffee is now perfect!

The main seemed to be the control panel. Happy that the machine works again!!!
Thanks for your support guys :D :D :D :D
